Windows > Editors > Plane/Layer editorOpens the Plane/layer editor window and allows you to control the arrangement of paint layers, construction planes, and overlay planes.

This feature is not available in SurfaceStudio.
Edit construction planes and canvas planes in the same editor window. Choose
Windows > Editors > Planes/Layer Editor to open the editor.
The editor shows the different types of planes and any layers on them. It also has a set of menus and icons for control over the planes.
To delete a canvas, make it active by picking it in the editor, and either choose
Delete > Active or press the
key.

Items in the Display menu affect the display of planes in all modeling windows. To change the display of planes on a per-window basis, see
DisplayTgls > Object toggles > Canvas planes.
Show all planes (Construction, Canvas, and Overlay).
Show only the canvas plane that is selected in the Plane/Layer editor. Hide all other planes (including construction and overlay planes).
Hides the selected construction plane.
Hides the selected canvas plane.
Hides the selected overlay canvas plane.
Items on the edit menu affect the layers on a plane.
Create a new image layer on the selected canvas or overlay plane.
Create a new mask layer on the selected canvas or overlay plane.
Removes paint from an image layer and retains the blank image layer.
Makes masked regions become unmasked and unmasked regions become masked on the active mask layer or on all mask layers associated with the active image layer.
Makes a duplicate of image layers, paintShape layers, or mask layers. A paint layer is placed above the current layer, and a mask layer is placed below the current mask layer.
Converts the vector-based shape layer into a bitmap.
Merges the current paint layer and the paint layer directly beneath it, and uses the name of the lower layer's name.
Merges all paint layers that are visible. To retain some layers, turn their visibility off by clicking the eye icon before performing a merge.
Merges all paint layers on the selected canvas or overlay plane and discards layer masks.
Moves a paint, shape, or layer mask.
Clicking on Canvas properties opens a separate window that displays context-sensitive information about the properties of the sketch or sketch layer. In this window you can expect to see information about the pixels, mask color and opacity, and so on. Depending on the sketch's properties, you can expect to see some of the following information:
The width and height of the sketch image plane measured in pixels.
The opacity of the Selection Mask Color that selection mask regions are shown in.
The color that selection mask regions are shown in.
The opacity of the Mask Color that masked regions on mask layers are shown in.
The color that masked regions on mask layers are shown in.
Change the opacity and color of the non-warped area when Warp Feedback is checked.
Items on this menu enable you to remove layers from planes, but do not delete the planes themselves.
Items on this menu enable you to see a particular canvas plane and to toggle the visibility of the borders on all planes.
The projection menu shows only if a canvas has been projected onto an object, and only if that canvas is selected. Choose this menu item to update the display on the object after you have modified the canvas.
Clicking on Canvas properties opens a separate window that displays context-sensitive information about the properties of the sketch or sketch layer. In this window you can expect to see information about the pixels, mask color and opacity, and so on. Depending on the sketch's properties, you can expect to see some of the following information:
